I don’t really like sales shopping and will avoid busy places such as Brighton and Oxford Street during sales periods. Fortunately we have an out of town mall not far from us with a huge Marks&Spencer.
I took my mum on a weekday afternoon so not quite as busy, which worked well.
The key for me when sales shopping is to not go for things you wouldn’t ordinarily buy and are now tempted just for the price.
Quite often if you follow your own style rules you will come away with some fab pieces and may not need to try on, thus avoiding long hot queues.
I kept my colour palate simple as I was shopping for versatile pieces for my holidays.
Autograph white T Shirt and Cream Full Midi Skirt……….
The T Shirt is very Cos like and quite structured for a T with a simple pocket and a bonded hem.
The skirt is beautiful it has so much material heavy cotton, with pockets and reduced from £50 to £25 such a bargain.
Stripy strappy Blouse and Striped 3/4 Wide legged pant……..
Love this top. The stripes keep it simple though you can play around with the bows for different looks.
The pants are the perfect holiday pants, off white with a stripe so you are far enough away from white jeans. Also practically shorter than palazzo pants so you can wear from the Mediterranean to the City.

This year I’ve gone for double lace as my party season look. I’ve dabbled in lace before but never gone for matching skirt and blouse.
I knew as soon as I saw the quality of the lace that I would like this look, It’s very Italian, very grown up, a little Dolce & Gabanna maybe?
There are two types of lace, nice lace and nasty lace, this is very nice lace. The rule is usually the more expensive the lace the better quality the garment. This blouse and skirt exude quality yet you’d be surprised to learn both items are from the Marks & Spencer Autograph collection and priced at a very pocket-friendly £55 each.
Buying lace separates for a Winter party outfit also covers you for other eventualities. Dress down the lace skirt with a roll neck.
Or dress up the blouse, with leather pants for more of a disco, party look.
Just checked the M&S website and both items are now in the sale!

Time for a quick Autumn Style post today. Since I attended the CCUOCO SS16 LFW show in September I’ve been obsessed with Candice Cuoco’s sleek minimal style. What could be simpler winter wear than a black leather skirt teamed with a fine knit polo neck?
The Outfit was from her A/W15 Collection, for the Woman who knows exactly what she wants and knows exactly where she is going. Not for the faint at heart. Grab your mid morning coffee and enjoy a little CCUOCO with it. Her website includes these essential Winter looks.
Now, Brighton Fashion Week took place a couple of weeks ago (More on that Later in the Week). The main catwalk shows held in the ever so beautiful but ever so cold All Saint Church. So I wanted an on trend Autumn/Winter super warm look for the hours spent in chilly Church.
Lucky for me the high street is full of Polo Neck Jumpers this year and leather skirts. Marks and Spencer is not always my first port of call but if you want Winter staples that will last the years it’s a good investment.
I chose a leather pencil skirt from the Autograph Collection and a Black Cashmere Polo Neck. Though its worth noting they also have cheaper lines in a faux leather skirt and a cashmere mix knit. I wore them with my black vintage fur, I was the toastiest on FRow.
Enjoy the CCUOCO & Coffee this morning!
